Dimarzio pickups for my Mexican Strat
I just bought a Dimarzio Evolution bridge humbucker and two Dimarzio HS-2 single-coils for my Mexican Strat to get a Vai-ish sound.
I read on Dimarzio’s website that “Evolution and JEM single-coils are only available on the Ibanez JEM” and one “can achieve a similar result by wiring an HS-2 for single-coil operation only: black wire hot, red and bare wires ground, green and white not connected.” I can’t wait to put them in. I’m not much of an electronics whiz, so I’m taking my guitar to Morrison Bros sometime this week.
Speaking of the Vai-ish sound, I’ve already got the Boss DS-1 Distortion pedal and the Morley Bad Horsie Wah pedal.
Now if I could just get my hands on an Eventide H3000 Harmonizer, some t.c. electronic and Roland effects, and a Carvin Legacy amp, I would be all set. Heh.
